Michelle Roman grew up in the small town of Avery, CA, where she learned the value of hard work and volunteering in her community. Michelle graduated from California State University, Stanislaus, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Child Development and her multiple-subject teaching credential. Michelle and her husband fell in love with the City of Kingsburg, and she felt right at home in the “Swedish Village.” Not long after, she was elected to serve on the City Council from 2011-2022. She is proud to be the first woman to serve as Mayor of the City. Michelle has served on many boards throughout Fresno County, including Fresno County Zoo Authority Board Chair, the first female to Chair both the Fresno County Council of Governments and Fresno County Rural Transit Authority. (Among many others) Michelle and her husband, John have two adult children and two rescue dogs.
